The University of Bath’s lighthouse project builds upon exciting research on personalizing and optimizing the user experience in VR exergames by recognizing players’ affective states through psychophysiological measurements. However, high intensity VR exergames poses a challenge for affect recognition due to the physical movements during exercise and VR headset interference which can affect sensor readings. The current lighthouse project builds upon the group’s previous research which explored what psychophysiological measures are suitable for affect recognition in VR exergaming (please click here). These findings could pave the way for more immersive and personalized VR exergaming experiences!
