FMX 2023: EMIL-Workshop

Vivid exchange on the future of XR at Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart

Last week we had the opportunity to present The European Media and Immersion Lab at this year’s FMX – Film and Media Exchange at Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. It was a great chance to discuss the future of XR with an international audience with a lot of expertise and experience.

Approximately 3,500 participants joined the conference, attending 160 presentations, discussions, workshops and masterclasses by over 300 speakers from April 25 to 28 on site as well as online.

Animationsinstitut would like to thank our great colleagues who joined the common workshop both physically and virtually. A special shout-out to Juhani Tenhunen, Marcus Korhonen, Narcis Pares and Yu Xiao!

EMIL is about to shape the future of XR content, services and applications – supporting third-party projects to be part of this journey. We offer generous funding and the facilities of the involved partners from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Aalto Studios at Aalto University and University of Bath.

The versatile projects range from narrative Location-Based Experiences, Digital Health to Cultural Heritage, and many more sectors within the continously growing field of Extended Reality.

A second open call for proposals for third-party projects is about to start in June 2023.
