At EMIL, our mission goes beyond funding and mentorship — we provide the full spectrum of lab infrastructure, both virtual and physical, to support our pioneering projects.
Last week, we were thrilled to welcome CREW Brussels to the facilities at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg / Animationsinstitut for two days of motion capture, diving deep into their funded project, TOOLS FOR TIMON.
CREW’s work lies at the intersection of art and technology, pushing the boundaries of immersive performance. With TOOLS FOR TIMON, they’re developing a VR-based performance machine that enables artists, curators and audiences to experience complex, location-based storytelling in entirely new ways. By tackling the challenges of XR and live performance, this project aims to empower creators in arts, heritage, education and beyond, with a flexible framework for real-time creation across diverse spaces.
It’s been a privilege to support CREW in capturing the motion data that will power their ambitious framework. Together, at EMIL, we’re making waves in the world of XR — breaking down barriers to immersive storytelling and redefining what’s possible with new technology.
